Altered Composition Notebook BlogHop

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to your next stop on the Altered Composition Notebook Blog Hop! If you have just came to my blog, you can begin the blog hop by clicking here

Most of you don't know that I am a total Band Geek! I play the flute and piano; this is what inspired my altered notebook! I thought that this book would be great to take notes for myself when I am in my band class. It was simple to make, and took less than an hour! Without any further adue, here is my notebook:

All the paper is from the DCWV Performance Stack. I used the Tim Holtz Ornamental die to cut out chipboard (for dimension) which was then layered with another piece of paper from the Performance Stack. All the pieces of paper were inked with the Vintage Photo ink from Tim Holtz.

The embossed image on the front was from a set of Recollections Stamps from Michaels. I found it in the clearance isle for only $4 CAD.

Blog Candy:

What is a good blog hop without any blog candy! Today, I will be giving away one set of Cricut Basic Colour Markers. To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment on this post telling me how you will alter your own composition book. I would also appreciate it if you would follow me! I will pick a winner by Monday August 22nd.

  1. Kyle, Your book is GREAT! I love that you made something you can use in band. It was nice to learn that you play the flute and piano too! I'm not surprised to learn that because I already knew that you are so talented! ABOUT THE BOOK: I LOVE the embossed image on the front. Terrific creation! Thanks so much for being part of the hop. :)

  3. Kyle...This is gorgeous! I think Sepia tones as I look at it...and Tim Holtz products used..what better to fit the style. My favorite ink of all time is the Altered Vintage Photo that you used...Love the keys and vintage feeling it conjures. What will I do with my book? Hhhhm, so many choices and I still have more to see here at the blog hop. Definitely creating organizers for my chidren's back to school needs. I will add tabs for sections to the book to include areas for, but not limited to: Schedules, Upcoming events/activities, Reminder for due dates of upcoming projects/homework & address/phone numbers/contact info for friends, classmates, teachers/administrators.. It will be like a personal/school squash book for each one of my 4 kids. Thanks for sharing your project. Am a new follower as well.

  11. So glad I found your blog, Kyle! Your talents are impressive, sir. I'll be a-followin'. Oh-- and from one "band geek" to another, I appreciate the self-deprecation. "Band geek" is just Greek for "extremely dedicated individual who appreciates music for its beauty AND its challenges." Rock on!
