Hogs and Kisses - Cute and Clean Birthday Card & Giveaway!

Hello Everyone,

Today I decided to share a cute card I made the other day using embossing paste, embossing powder and my Cricut. I think the card came out super cute:

I first used white embossing paste (light modelling paste) and a triangle pattern stencil to create the background. While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled on gold embossing powder, which was then left overnight to dry. In the morning, I used my heat tool to melt the powder; the triangles have a great sheen and sparkle to them... they turned out great!

This cute pig was cut out using the Create a Critter 2 cartridge. Assembly was easy as always, and I adhered her to the card with dimensionals.

I finished the card off by adding a sentiment from a retired My Pink Stamper stamp set, rounding the corners and adhering a little heart punch out (from a Studio G punch). All in all, I am very happy with the way this card turned out.

    1. Thank you very much Lissa! That's great - cut out some great images and use them on your cards/layouts. The background was made using a stencil, embossing paste (AKA "light modelling paste" at craft stores like Michaels) and gold embossing powder. The first thing you want to do is lay an even layer of embossing paste onto your cardstock using your stencil and embossing paste - it spreads similarly to buttercream icing. Next you want to remove your stencil and sprinkle over embossing powder (your choice of colour). TIP: You want to make sure your embossing paste sets before heat setting it... or else the embossing will get "lumpy". Once the embossing paste has dried, heat set the powder using a heat tool and voila, a super cute background. Hope this helps :)
